Outline of Research at the Start

自由界面を含む非圧縮性(低マッハ数)の混相流に対し、弱圧縮性流体計算手法、AMR法や動的負荷分散などの高性能計算技術を導入する革新的な数値シミュレータを開発し、100nm~1kmにわたる3つの実問題 ①多量の瓦礫や流木を含んだ流れの自然災害、②液膜ダイナミクスおよび泡沫の生成・崩壊、③粒子間の液架橋を直接計算する固気液分散系の低水分スラリーに適用する。GPUスパコン等で大規模計算を実行することにより詳細モデルで解きながらマクロな性質を導き出し、大量の瓦礫や流木の補足や構造物への衝撃、液膜や泡沫の生成・崩壊、スラリーの粘弾性特性など、混相流の流体力学における新しい知見を得る。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究は、① 多量の瓦礫や流木を含んだ流れの斜面災害のシミュレーション、② 液膜のダイナミクスおよび泡沫の生成・崩壊のシミュレーション、③ 粒子間の液架橋を直接計算するスラリーの固気液分散系シミュレーションから構成される。
①岩手県岩泉町乙茂地区の洪水氾濫に対して水平方向に920m×280mの範囲の計算を行ったが、最小20cm格子では解像度が足りないためことが判明した。そこで、被害が大きく多数の流木が捕捉された360m×120mの範囲に限定し、最小7.8cm格子を用いて計算を開始した。また、非常に多数の流木が補足される計算の妥当性を検証するため、模擬流木1000本を使った1/70縮尺の実験に対するシミュレーションを開始した。派生的な研究として、流木を含んだ土石流の被害も甚大であり、本研究の適用可能性を検討した。
② 液膜シミュレーションでにおいて、数値計算による疑似流速(Spurious Current)を大幅に低減する必要があり、PLIC 法による界面捕獲と Height Function 法による表面張力計算の実装を行った。これにより非イオン性の界面活性剤の気液界面への吸着と脱離を計算できるようになり、バルクの界面活性剤濃度に応じた液膜ダイナミクスや液膜内の物質移動を解析できるようになった。また、泡沫の保温効果の解析を行うため、熱輸送を考慮した気液二相流シミュレーションを開始した。
③容器内の水分を含んだ125個の粒子に対し、せん断試験に対応したシミュレーションを実施した。接触角や粘性、ドライな粒子間の摩擦力を変化させ、せん断速度と応力の関係を調べた。粒子間距離が近づいた時に働く潤滑力は計算格子の解像度では表現できないため、解析的なモデルを導入した。マクロには非ニュートン性のダイラタント流体の特徴を示す結果が得られたが、粒子数を増やして計算する必要があることが明らかになった。

Reason

①岩手県岩泉町乙茂地区の2016 年の台風10号による洪水氾濫に対し、被害が大きく多数の流木が捕捉された範囲に限定し、最小格子を7.8cmに変更することで、実際の災害との直接比較が可能な見通しを得ている。その計算でも、過去に行われたことのない大規模計算となる。

②液膜シミュレーションはGPU計算を用いたAMRコードを用いるが、PLIC 法とHeight Function 法を実装することは対角方向の複雑な格子上の変数参照が発生するなど予想外の困難が発生し、2023年度に繰越しすることにより実装を完了することができた。また、熱輸送を考慮する気液二相流シミュレーションも開始している。

③水分を含んだ粉体に対し液架橋を直接計算するシミュレーションを遂行し、マクロな流体特性が得られ始めている。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

①岩手県岩泉町乙茂地区の洪水氾濫のシミュレーションに加えて、模擬流木1000本を使った1/70縮尺の実験に対するシミュレーションを実施する。さらに、不透過型堰堤に取り付けられた流木捕捉工の有効性を検証する。また、実際の橋梁で多数の流木が捕捉される理由の詳細解明を試みる。また、流木を含んだ土石流シミュレーションを試みる。

② 界面活性剤の輸送を考慮した液膜・泡沫の詳細なシミュレーションをさらに進め、表面張力、マランゴニ効果と重力のバランスに対し、液膜への液体の供給が減少してきたときの液膜破断の流体力学的なメカニズムを明らかにする。また、泡沫形成のシミュレーションで熱輸送を同時に計算し、泡沫の断熱効果を明らかにする。

③ 粒子間の液架橋まで直接計算するコードに対して、粒子数を増やした大規模計算を行えるように改良し、水分を含んだ粉体のマクロなせん断速度と応力の関係などの流動特性を明らかにする。
