Outline of Research at the Start

素粒子標準模型では、素粒子の質量及びフレーバー構造を決定する湯川結合はパラメターであり、それらの値を予言することはできない。本研究の目的は、湯川結合の起源を弦理論、特に滑らかなカラビ・ヤウ多様体上のヘテロ型弦理論に基づいて明らかにすることである。曲率を持つ滑らかなカラビ・ヤウ多様体上のSO(32)ヘテロ型弦理論に基づく有効理論に注目し、実験データと整合する湯川結合の導出を目指す。また、モジュライ場及びアクシオン場に依存する湯川結合を通して、これらモジュライ場の引き起こす素粒子論的・宇宙論的現象を探求する。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本年度は,ヘテロ型弦理論の“Standard embedding”に基づき,素粒子のフレーバー構造を詳細に調べた.Standard embeddingでは,カラビ・ヤウ多様体のモジュライ場の運動項及び湯川結合を用いて,物質場のフレーバー構造が決定される.本研究では,カラビ・ヤウ多様体のモジュライ空間が持つシンプレクティックモジュラー対称性が素粒子のフレーバー対称性を決定することを明らかにした.特定のカラビ・ヤウ多様性では,素粒子のフレーバー混合の構造を理解する上で有力な非可換離散対称性が実現される.また,CP対称性はシンプレクティックモジュラー対称性の外部自己同型と同一視され,フレーバー対称性とCP対称性は一般化されたシンプレクティックモジュラー対称性として記述されることを示した.

弦理論の有効理論において,物質場の高次演算子に関する研究を行った.
広範なクラスの弦理論のコンパクト化において,物質場の高次演算子が湯川結合の積で決定される事実に基づき,弦模型が“Minimal Flavor Violation”仮説の性質を内包していることを指摘した.モジュライ場が超対称性を破るシナリオでは,超対称性を破る項もシンプレクティックモジュラー対称性を尊重し,超対称性粒子間のフレーバー構造もモジュラー対称性で決定される.現象論的応用として,素粒子標準模型有効場の理論におけるフレーバー物理現象,特にレプトンフレーバーを破る現象に関して大きく制限を与えることを明らかにした.
