Outline of Research at the Start

岩石亀裂内の流体挙動が岩石物性に与える影響を数値的・実験的に解明する。格子ボルツマン法によりデジタル岩石亀裂内の微視的な流体挙動を3次元的に明らかにし,また同時に電気伝導・弾性波動シミュレーションを行うことで,様々な流れ場における比抵抗・地震波速度の変化を解明する。同一試料を用いた透水実験の結果と統合して評価することで,亀裂内の流体挙動と岩石物性を関連付ける岩石物理モデルを確立し,地下の亀裂系岩盤における流体挙動評価を目指す。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究では,岩石亀裂内の複雑な流体挙動が岩石物性に与える影響を数値的・実験的に解明し,物理探査による亀裂内流体挙動モニタリングへ役立てるモデル開発を行った。
まず実岩石亀裂の表面粗さ形状をもとにデジタル岩石を構築し,格子ボルツマン法ならびに有限要素法解析を適用した。一連の解析により,有効垂直応力の変化による微視的な流路遷移のイメージングに成功した。さらに比抵抗と浸透率の間には粗さに左右されない関係性があることが見いだされ,これは実フィールドでの観測に有用な知見となる。その一方で弾性波速度は粗さによって変化することが示され,これには空隙率に加え亀裂面の真実接触面積が重要なファクターである可能性が示唆された。
次に実岩石亀裂の表面粗さスペクトルをベースに異なる寸法の数値亀裂モデルを造成し,水理特性と岩石物性値の関係に対するスケール依存性を調べた。解析の結果,浸透率と比抵抗の関係は亀裂のサイズに関わらず,すべての試料で両対数プロット上に直線の相関があることが確認された。またその傾きは亀裂内流路の屈曲度変化で表すことができ,サイズ依存性が見られないことから,実験室スケールで調べた関係が直接実フィールドデータの解釈に適用できる可能性が示された。
弾性波速度の変化に関しては,古典的なエネルギー論の応用で数値的に推定する手法を開発し,開口幅と弾性波速度変化の経験式を導くことに成功した。この関係は,亀裂のサイズには依存しない一方で,亀裂密度によって非線形に相関が変化することも明らかとなった。この非線形変化を考慮してモデル化を行うことで,弾性波速度から浸透率を推定する経験式を導いた。ここで基準となる弾性波速度と浸透率の値が求めれば,粗さに関わらず弾性波速度変化と浸透率変化の間に直線関係があることが明らかとなり,速度変化モニタリングが地下の流動特性評価に適用できる可能性が示唆された。
