Outline of Research at the Start |
1. Show the violence at the center of the Transcendental Dialectic, especially in the Antimony. 2. Show how the Transcendental Analytic is structured in light of the violence that is being contained in the Transcendental Dialectic. 3. Show how this results in a discipline and polemic that heads toward the Critique of Practical Reason. 3. Trace out a similar pattern in the Critique of Practical Reason.

Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
During AY 22 I gave one paper at a Conference titled, Emerging Crisis:The New Humanities and Mimetic Theory. My paper was "Remapping Kant's Relation with Christianity." I published two articles, "What the Text Omits: Kant's Critique of Pure Reason and Violence and the Sacred" and "Did Rousseau Teach Kant Disciple?" in the Kantian Review. I have another article accepted and two articles under review at Kant-Studium. I sponsored a Symposium on Kant and Rousseau here at International Christian University. Profs. Richard Velkley and Chris Kelly from Tulane University and Boston College University, respectively, came and gave papers and taught classes. It helped me a lot with my own research.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
1: Research has progressed more than it was originally planned.
Reason
Beginning in the summer of 2022, my writing productivity has greatly increased. I have had two articles published. One more is accepted for publication. Three articles are under consideration. Plus, two book chapters, written several years ago will finally come out. I am been able to begin writing on Kant's practical philosophy and hope to move into the Critique of the Power of Judgment soon. Finally, the translator is moving on the last part of the my book on Kant and we should be able to give it to a publisher by the end of the summer.
|
Strategy for Future Research Activity |
I am working with my translator to finish the book on Kant and Rousseau. I am writing each day to finish the present article on the Transcendental Deduction of the First Critique. I will then start to work on the Critique of Judgment. My writing is going well and I am quite pleased with the output.
