| Outline of Research at the Start |
本研究は古典儒教という視座から、三つの課題を中心に、西田倫理学における人格実現説の形成と意義を再検討する。一、西田はどのように古典儒教の言説を取り入れ、人格実現説を樹立したのか。二、西田はどのように古典儒教の倫理学を変化させたのか。三、古典儒教と交錯した西田の人格実現説が倫理学そのものに対してどのような意義をもつのか。
現行の西田幾多郎全集の諸版のみならず、2015年より整理し始めた「西田幾多郎未公開ノート類」をも利用するという方法を取ることで、西田倫理学の最新研究像を開拓する。人格実現説における古典儒教の受容史を明示する一方、西田の倫理学自体への創造的な貢献を明らかにする。

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This project aims at revisiting Nishida Kitaro's notion, actualization of personality, through its interchange with Classical Confucianism. The achievements are as follows: firstly, concepts like sincerity, the mean, knowledge, feeling and volition, which are widely used in Nishida ethics have been extensively examined. Secondly, by using of undisclosed materials which were found in 2015, a new horizon of Nishida ethics has been developed. Thirdly, regarding the interconnection between Nishida ethics and Classical Confucianism, especially its relationship with moral sentimentalism, the meaningfulness of Nishida ethics has been further uncovered.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
一、これまで注目されていたかった西田倫理学、特に古典儒教との関係を明らかにした。二、『西田幾多郎全集』の諸版のみならず、2015年より発見された「未公開資料」も使用し、西田倫理学の新地平を開こうとした。三、西田倫理学と古典授業との交差により、倫理学そのもの、特に道徳感情論という側面からみた意義も開示した。
