| Outline of Research at the Start |
本研究は、国際製品開発（国際拠点間の連携による製品開発）のもとでおこなわれる 拠点間の組織的な統合にかんする実証分析をおこなう。研究方法としては主に自動車企業の 国際製品開発を対象とした事例分析を採用する。まず、インタビュー調査にもとづく詳細な 事例分析を執筆し、これをもとに経営学、とくに製品開発を含む技術経営分野と国際経営分 野における理論構築をおこなうことを主眼とする。まず、海外拠点主導のものを含む多様な 拠点間統合にかんする形態・メカニズムの解明をおこなう。また、日本企業の強みと言われるすり合わせ型の開発能力にかんする国際製品開発への適用可能性について検討する。

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This study has analyzed organizational integrartion among international institutions for global product development. As companies globalize business activities, R&D function operation has been more internationalized although it has been pointed out its difficulty of internationalization. We have analyzed the case and mechanism of global integration of product development operated among international institutions and development capability constructed at its global level.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
本研究は、グローバル製品開発とその中での拠点間統合の視点から、製品開発マネジメントを分析し、このことを通じて日本企業のすり合わせ型能力について、グローバルなレベルでの適用可能性の観点から検討した。これらは、本社の開発部門や部品企業等との連携を含む国内事業に限定して製品開発を分析した先行研究ではみられない、本研究に独自の視点となる学術的意義をもたらす。
一般に企業機密とかかわるため調査対象へのアクセスや研究成果の公表が難しく、公表データが限られる国際製品開発の実態を解明した。関連分野の諸研究や実務担当者が参照できる詳細な事例データを公表してきた点でも本研究は学術的意義と社会的意義がある。
