| Outline of Research at the Start |
わが国で空港民営化が本格化するなか、空港経営に関する知見は、空港政策を立案する国や地方自治体、さらには空港経営者にとっても重要な要素となる。
そこで本研究では、民営化空港にとって重要な収入源となる空港の非航空系事業に焦点を当てて、これに影響を与える要因を明らかにすることを目的とする。
本研究の新規性は、①非航空系収入を構成要素（商業施設のテナント収入、駐車場収入、施設賃貸料収入）ごとに分割して分析する、②旅客の流動データを用いて、旅客の「発地空港」が与える影響についても分析する、ことである。
これにより、効率的な空港経営に対する示唆と、これに基づく望ましい空港政策について提案できる。

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
(1)Our study revealed that the origin airport (country of origin) of air passengers influences the amount of non-aeronautical revenue (revenue derived, for example from commercial activities at passenger terminals) at airports.
(2)Our study revealed that first class and business class airline passengers may spend relatively less (per use of the airport) in the commercial areas of the airport.
(3)Our study revealed that in the serious decline of the international passenger flow to and from Japan due to the strict entry restrictions in the Covid-19 Disaster, Japanese airlines may be focusing on the connections between foreign countries (mainly international connections between Southeast Asia and North America) via Japanese airports.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
わが国では、空港経営改革の一環としてコンセッション方式（民間事業者への施設運営権の譲渡）による空港民営化が実施もしくは計画されている。その特徴は、これまで別々に運営されてきた滑走路等の航空系事業と旅客ターミナルビル等の非航空系事業の一体経営を前提とすることであり、非航空系事業の相対的な重要性が高まっている。
本研究の帰結により、非航空系事業を中心とした効率的な空港経営に対する示唆と、これに基づく望ましい空港政策について提案することができた。さらには、コロナ禍における航空旅客流動を分析することで、パンデミックにおける航空会社の戦略について、一定の示唆を与えることができた。
