| Outline of Research at the Start |
初年度には、「天皇家の出来事群の実写映画を商品化する資本の運動は、どのような文化的条件のもと、どのような規模と質において展開されていたか」という問題についての資料調査と考察を進めることで、製作上映主体の論理に即して本研究の主題にアプローチする。また本研究の分析枠組みの検討と精緻化を行う。次年度には、「同時代の人びとは一連の実写映画から天皇家やネーションに対するどのような申請を喚起されていたか」についての資料調査と考察を行い、本研究の中核的問いについて同時代人の意味世界に即しながら検討を行う。最終年度には、資料調査を継続しつつ、研究期間全体で得られた成果を綜合する知見を導出し、論文を執筆する。

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
What kind of opportunity did the trend of economic agents to visualize and commercialize events related to the Emperor's family constitute the formation of people's national identity in Japanese 20th century? In this study, we investigated and analyzed this question from a sociological point of view. Through this work, it became clear that the expansion of the emperor's experience through the movie medium had a repulsive effect on the formation of monarchical nationalism.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
社会学や歴史学の研究史では一般に、20世紀の映画会社や新聞社やテレビ局が公開した皇室関連のニュース映画・映像は、天皇家をシンボルとした国民的帰属意識の喚起と編成に大きくくみした媒体であったとかんがえられてきた。対して本研究では、20世紀の天皇実写映画の上映・鑑賞の微視的相貌について調査と検討を加えることによって、ニュース映画やテレビを媒介した複製的で間接的な皇室体験の定着が、むしろ天皇家の民族的シンボル性が社会的に捨象・閑却される事態へと帰結したことをあきらかにした。
