| Outline of Research at the Start |
本研究は、聴覚障害のある学校教員の教職経験について障害学の視点から検討することを目的とする。障害学は「障害とは何か」という問いを追究する学問であり、障害を治療の対象とする捉え方（医療モデル）に対して、障害（disability）とは社会の側のバリアによって生み出されることを指摘した（社会モデル）。また「ろう文化宣言」（1995年）のように文化の視点から説明する議論も存在する（文化モデル）。
聴覚障害教員は、これら複数の障害観を背景に持つ社会変化を経験している存在である。そこで本研究ではこの文脈の複数性に着目し、エスノグラフィ調査によって彼らの職務経験を多角的に明らかにすることを目指している。

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This study aimed to examine the professional experiences of deaf teachers through fieldwork conducted at symposia and training sessions led by deaf teachers, as well as through interviews with deaf teachers themselves. Through these investigations, data were collected on the current conditions surrounding deaf teachers and on their life stories. In addition, interviews were conducted with three deaf teachers in China, allowing us to gain insights into their life stories as well.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
インクルーシブ教育の推進と2016年の改正障害者雇用促進法を背景に障害のある教職員の採用が推進されてきた。障害のある教職員が力を発揮するためには職場としての学校や教師という職業における社会的障壁を取り除いていくことが求められる。本研究は聴覚障害のある教員に焦点をあて、彼らが教員としてどのような社会的障壁を経験し、その解消に取り組んできたのかを明らかにすることで、インクルーシブな学校環境の創出に寄与するものである。
