Outline of Research at the Start

従来、理科(物理)教育や数学(幾何学)教育と技術(工学)教育や美術(デザイン学)教育は、遠くかけ離れたものという認識が一般的であった。しかし近年、総合的学習が学校教育に行きわたり、教科の枠組みを外した横断的な内容が教授されるようになっている。これまで、教材自体に各教科の内容を教授できる教材を開発し、体験的に理解できる遊具として提案を続けてきたが、今回はこれらの研究で得られた成果を、初等教育(小学校)においても分かりやすく教授できる教育遊具に展開させる。

Outline of Final Research Achievements

Existing large educational play equipment will be systematically and comprehensively archived as “small play equipment” that can be safely rolled and played. After that, with the cooperation of the Elementary School attached to the Faculty of Education, University of Yamanashi, the materials were used as related educational play equipment in various units such as arts and crafts, arithmetic, science, and physical education. The purpose is to firmly establish the contents of the targeted educational objectives. This is an attempt to make the large educational play equipment.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

鑑賞者が作品に手で直接触りながら、あるいは搭乗しながら「時間」・「空間」・「重力」などを感じとることができる触知・体験型作品群を継続的に制作し、各種展示会や国際学会(International Society for Geometry and Graphics,ASBDA International Conference等)において発表してきた。
本研究では、これまでで得られた研究成果をもとに、体験型触知教育遊具として初等教育へ導入することを目的に小型化を図り、小学校において授業実践を試行した。これにより近年、日本においても注目され始めている「STEAMS教育」への展開の可能性を確認できた。
