Outline of Research at the Start |
Study of in Asia and in Western Europe, and international mobility of foreign faculty in higher educational institutions, to identity universal factors of integration.
Comprehensive data from Europe and Asia will be reported in research articles and books in English and Japanese.
|
Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
I attended the Comparative International Education Society Conference in Minneapolis in April 18-22, 2022 to present research data on the integration of international faculty in Japan. The session was attended by approximately 20 people. Furthermore, with my research partner Michio Tajima, we have completed a full length research paper on the "International Faculty in Japanese Higher Education: Sociocultural Factors Contributing to Employment Satisfaction". This was published in the Journal of Geolinguistics in Language Contact, Conflict, and Development (ASGP) in December of 2022.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
3: Progress in research has been slightly delayed.
Reason
We have been conducting additional research (interviews and questionnaire surveys) on topics tangential to the main research area of international mobility in Japan. We intend to report on this research at the academic conferences listed below.
|
Strategy for Future Research Activity |
There are three up-coming conferences where we are planning to present additional data at the following academic conferences: 1. The Conference on Global Education on June 3; 2. JALT (Japan Association for Language Teaching) on November 24-26, and the 3. The Comparative International Education Society (CIES) Conference in March 10-15, 2023. Consequently, we intend to publish two more research papers based on the results of our research during this academic year 2022-2023.
