Outline of Research at the Start |
Study of in Asia and in Western Europe, and international mobility of foreign faculty in higher educational institutions, to identity universal factors of integration.
Comprehensive data from Europe and Asia will be reported in research articles and books in English and Japanese.
|
Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
I presented research data about Japanese student mobility at the Global Higher Education Conference at Lakeland University in June of 2023. I also continued to investigate the issues of international students studying within English taught programs at Japanese Universities, and I presented preliminary data at the Comparative International Education Society Conference in March of 2024. A research article was published in the Journal of Geolinguistic Studies in February, 2024 on research data from the period I was on sabbatical. In particular, I investigated language attitudes and ideologies relevant to foreign residents living in Spain toward the Catalan language.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.
Reason
I received good feedback upon presenting my research at conferences, which assisted in helping me refine my topic. This will allow me to gather more valuable data and help in the dissemination of my research.
|
Strategy for Future Research Activity |
I am currently collecting quantitative data regarding the experiences of international students at English taught programs in Japanese universities. I hope to expand my research to encompass programs within private and public universities and to compare these results with programs found in other countries.
