Outline of Research at the Start

Outline of Final Research Achievements

The purpose of this study was to examine the psychological effects of the atomic bomb on the next generation from a positive psychological perspective and to construct a new psychological peace education program. From a positive psychological perspective, this study focused on forgiveness toward the perpetrators. The results of the questionnaire survey indicated that the descendants of atomic bomb survivors may have positive qualities such as emotional and behavioral forgiveness toward those who have harmed them. In addition, second- and third-generation atomic bomb survivors may have different reactions to health concerns. In the construction of a psychological peace program, some mindfulness-based programs were implemented for several psychological issues, and a certain level of effectiveness was obtained.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
