| Outline of Research at the Start |
誰もが年齢を重ねていく中で，介護の問題は避けて通れない。以前は人生後半期の課題であると考えられていた介護問題であるが，未婚化，晩婚化，少子化，経済状況の悪化等によって，介護の問題はすべての世代に関係の深いテーマとなっている。
本研究では，10代～30代の青年期・成人前期に家族介護を経験した「若年ケアラー」の介護実態を明らかにした上で，若年で介護をする経験が，人生にどのような影響を与えるのかを生涯発達の視点から検討する。若年ケアラーの実態とその内的世界が解明されることで，社会全体にとって，ケアすることの現実と意義を問い直せるのではないかと考える。

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This study conducted a literature review, a web-based survey, and interviews with young carers in their teens to thirties to determine the reality of carers. The research collaborators in this study found that while the experience of caring (or having cared) can have a negative impact on their lives, they generally viewed it as a positive experience.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
近年、着目されている18歳未満のヤングケアラーであるが、そのヤングケアラーたちは、18歳以上になったらケアラー役割を終えるわけではなく、その後もケアラーとして人生を生きていく可能性が高い。つまり、ヤングケアラーから若年ケアラーになるため、そこに焦点を当て、生涯発達心理学の視点からデータを分析した点に学術的意義が認められる。また教育関係者から成果報告の依頼がしばしばあり、今回得た知見を広く社会に還元することができたと考える。
