Outline of Research at the Start

曲線や曲面など、曲がった図形の概念を高次元化したものを多様体とよぶが,情報幾何学では確率分布などを高次元空間内の点だと考え,抽象的な情報の空間を多様体とみなす.
これまでの情報幾何学の応用では,曲がった空間の内積に相当するリーマン計量や、微分に相当するアファイン接続を情報空間のなす多様体に適用する内容がほとんどであった.そこで本研究は,情報空間に構成される統計多様体の系列や,シンプレクティック構造など,より高次の情報幾何学構造に関してその数学的基礎の構築を目指すとともに,諸分野への応用も検討する.

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

曲線や曲面など、曲がった図形の概念を高次元化したものを多様体とよぶ.情報幾何学では確率分布などを高次元空間内の点だと考え,情報の集まりがなす抽象的な空間,すなわち情報空間を多様体とみなす.これまでの情報幾何学の研究は,曲がった空間の内積に相当するリーマン計量、曲がった空間の微分に相当するアファイン接続を,情報空間の多様体に適用するものがほとんどであった.そこで本研究は,情報空間に構成される統計多様体の系列や,シンプレクティック構造など,情報幾何学に対する高次幾何学構造の数学的基礎の構築を目指す.さらに,情報幾何学における数学的基礎の諸分野への応用も検討する.
2023年度は異常統計における統計モデルの幾何構造を再検討した.情報幾何学ではマルコフ埋め込みとよばれる写像に対して,統計モデルの幾何構造の不変性を要請することが多い。しかしながら,異常統計では統計モデルの幾何構造については双対平坦性のみに注目し,マルコフ埋め込みに対する不変性とは両立しないもの考えることが多かった.そこで本研究では確率分布の再規格化の方法を修正し,いくつかの種類の変形指数型分布族に対して双対平坦性と不変性が両立する幾何構造を構成した.結果的に,確率分布の再規格化の違いによって,統計モデルに構成される幾何構造も異なることが再確認された.これら研究は国際会議において研究成果発表を行っており,研究成果をまとめた論文は投稿準備中である.

Reason

変形指数型分布族において,確率分布の再規格化と統計モデルの幾何構造の関連を解明することは研究開始当初からの研究目的であった.この問題に対して,研究開始当初とは異なる再規格化の手法を用いることで,双対平坦性と不変性が両立する幾何構造を構成した.ある意味では研究開始当初の想定を超えた進展である.情報幾何学におけるアファイン接続の双対性について,通常のパラメータとは異なる双対性も現れており,今後も発展性のある研究成果である.

Strategy for Future Research Activity

確率分布の再規格化と統計モデルの幾何構造について,変形指数型分布族において双対平坦性と不変性が両立する幾何構造に関する論文を執筆中である.2024年度が研究の最終年度となる予定のため,論文を完成させて発表させたい.また,国際会議等への参加を活発化させ,研究成果の公表活動を推進したい.
