Outline of Research at the Start

代表的な水素吸蔵金属であるパラジウムに水素を吸蔵させるために軽水,重水を用いた電解チャージ法がしばしば用いられるが,本研究では,直流電圧に微小振幅の交流電圧を重畳させることで,水素の急速・高密度吸蔵現象の可能性を探る。特に,正弦波,矩形波,三角波といった様々な波形に対して,広範な周波数域での水素吸蔵の交流応答を系統的に調べる。
さらに高濃度領域x > 1におけるPdHxおよびPdDxの試料作製を行い,それらの電子輸送現象を実験的に明らかにする。PdHxおよびPdDx(x > 1)の物性開拓は,高デバイ温度に由来する高温超伝導発見の可能性を秘めており,その意義は大きい。

Outline of Final Research Achievements

In conventional superconductors with s-wave pairing symmetry, magnetic defects act as strong pair breakers, whereas nonmagnetic defects have negligible effect. In this report, we will show that nonmagnetic defects promote the superconductivity mediated by optical phonon in palladium-hydride system.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

これまで発見されてきた高温超伝導体の多くは,いわゆる強相関電子系で実現しており,典型的なフォノン媒介機構では説明がつかないとされている.一方で,すでにある程度確立したフォノン媒介超伝導理論にもとづき新たな高温超伝導体を探すという試みも多くの研究者によりなされてきた.水素吸蔵金属において発現する超伝導状態の理解は高デバイ温度に由来する高温超伝導発見の可能性と機構解明につながると期待され,その意義は大きい。
