Outline of Research at the Start

本計画は、地上重力波干渉計のターゲットであるコンパクト連星系に対する古在機構の影響を多面的に研究するものである。観測計画O3を含め今後の重力波天文学の急速な発展を見越して、数値的および解析的にコンパクト連星の進化に対する古在機構の影響を調べる。さらに研究を発展させて、データ解析を行う際に検証が期待できる重力波形上の古在機構の兆候、DECIGO等の将来計画で重要になる前景放射除去に同機構が与える影響も検討する。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

最近、2つのグループが、質量輸送を起こしている連星白色矮星HM Cancriの長期軌道進化に対する解析結果を報告した。この連星は、既知の銀河内連星のうちで最も大きな3.1ミリヘルツの軌道周期を持ち、宇宙重力波検出器LISAの重要なターゲットの1つと考えられてきた。本年度、私はまず初めに計測された軌道周波数の1次および2次導関数を用いて、この連星に対する第3体の重力的な影響を検討した。その結果、1次導関数とは異なり、2次導関数は古い白色矮星などの暗い第3体によって強く影響を受けている可能性があることがわかった。

一方、宇宙重力波検出器LISAはミリヘルツ帯の重力波によって約10000の銀河連星を検出することが期待されている。上記のHM Cancriの報告により、周波数の2階微分係数がLISAの興味深い観測対象となりうる可能性が出てきたので、これに関する検討を引き続いて行った。ここでは、具体的な参照系として、HM Cancriを設定して、その重力波信号解析を予測した。結果として、LISAの通常の運用期間(4年程度)では、このバイナリの報告された二階微分係数の測定精度が十分でない見通しであることがわかった。一方、二階微分係数の測定精度は観測時間に強く依存するため、LISAの運用期間の延長や他のミッション(例:TaijiおよびTianQin)との連携によって、精度が劇的に向上する可能性があることを指摘した。
