| Outline of Research at the Start |
市町村が実施する「食品ロスダイアリー」の調査結果を利用して，家庭での直接廃棄や食べ残しなどの食品ロスを重量だけでなくカロリー・金額ベースで推計し，さらに既存の家庭系食品ロスに関する統計データと比較検討することによって，その利用可能性を検証する．
また，既存の家庭系食品ロスに関する統計データの推計方法や，その基礎資料としている市町村のごみ組成調査を精査し，「食品ロスダイアリー」をもとに推計した数値と比較検討する。

The plan was to estimate household food loss using the "Food Loss Diary". However, the new corona outbreak restricted research and surveys, and for a combination of other reasons, the study ended with a suspension.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
世界的にも問題となっている食品ロスのうち，家庭内で生じる食品ロスはマクロ的な把握にとどまっており，世帯属性別には十分な精度を持った推計が行われていないのが現状である．そこで，地方自治体が実施している「食品ロスダイアリー」の個票を活用して，家庭内食品ロスを推計することを目的としていた．
しかし，新型コロナやその他の理由により，研究が中断したまま終了した．
