| Outline of Research at the Start |
糖尿病は血糖値を調節するホルモン、インスリンが出にくくなる事と、インスリンが効きにくくなる、「インスリン抵抗性」によって起こる。しかし、インスリン抵抗性を治療する薬剤はほとんど無く、その標的となる物質の探索が必要である。検証の対象として、炎症などに関与する、「エキソソーム」を解析する。日本人のインスリン抵抗性が高い人と低い人の差を調べ、アメリカ人との差も調べる予定である。これらの研究により２型糖尿病、インスリン抵抗性改善薬の新しい標的となるエキソソーム含有物を検証する。

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The serum inflammatory exosome was decreased after bariatric surgery. We reported that hepatic insulin clearance is increased in the patients with poor controlled type 2 diabetes.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
高血糖で肝臓でのインスリン分解が亢進する事を臨床的に論文にした事で、糖尿病の新たな病態について報告することができ、糖尿病領域において、学術的、社会的に意義のある研究報告ができたと考えている。また、エキソソームが生活習慣病、慢性炎症に重要であると考えられ、学術的意義がある研究となったと考えられた。詳細なデータ解析の後、英語論文として国際的学術誌に投稿予定であり、掲載された際の学術的意義は大きな物になると考えている。
