| Outline of Research at the Start |
本研究は、同時性肝転移、リンパ節転移を認めた患者群の正常大腸粘膜、原発巣、転移リンパ節、肝転移の４群間のprofilingから大腸癌進展・転移に関与するCircRNAを同定し、新たなNon-invasive biomarkerの確立と、癌進展機序解明からの新規治療法開発を目的とするTwo way approachを行い、現在極めて予後不良な経過をたどる大腸癌患者の予後・QOLの向上をめざすことを目的とする。

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In this study, we identified the expression level of FLANC was significantly high in CRC tissues compared with adjacent normal mucosa. Furthermore, the high expression group of FLANC showed significantly poor overall survival and disease free survival compared with low expression group.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
大腸癌進展・転移に関与するCircRNAのバイオマーカーとしての有用性には大きな期待が寄せられると考えられる。本研究ではFLANCが大腸癌の腫瘍進展・転移に関与しており、予後予測マーカーとして有用となり得る可能性について証明した。今後はCirc RNAの網羅的プロファイリングを行い、大腸癌転移に関するバイオマーカーとしての意義を検証していく予定であり、本研究成果はその試金石となりうる役割を果たしていると考える。
