本研究は、術後疼痛緩和を治療期からの緩和ケアとして捉え、臨床現場の看護師による術後疼痛の症状マネジメントがエビデンスに基づく実践となり、治療期からの緩和ケアが促進されることを目指し、今後のわが国での術後急性痛サービスチームによる総合的アプローチやマルチモーダル鎮痛法の普及を視野に入れ、フェーズ1：実態調査、フェーズ2：フェーズ1の実態調査と文献等に基づくアルゴリズムと評価指標の作成、フェーズ3：作成したアルゴリズムと評価指標の有効性と実用可能性の検証段階を経て、術後疼痛の病態・生理や薬理学的なエビデンスに基づいた除痛アルゴリズムと評価指標を構築することを目的とした学際的な研究である。

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Phase 1: ① A survey was conducted among physicians and nurses regarding methods for assessing postoperative pain and current analgesic practices and their perceived effectiveness.② Furthermore, patients were surveyed regarding their pain relief status and how they evaluated its adequacy.
Phase 2: Based on the Phase 1 survey findings and literature review, we developed a customized Postoperative Pain Relief Program, including “Postoperative Analgesia Algorithm,” “Evaluation Index for Postoperative Pain,” and “Informational Handout for Patients on Postoperative Pain.”
Phase 3: This program was implemented in 16 patients who had undergone colorectal cancer surgery, and its usefulness and practicality were confirmed.Based on the issues identified during the process, the content was revised and a “Postoperative Pain Relief Program (Revised Version)” was developed.Currently,the revised program is being prepared for clinical integration in gastrointestinal surgery.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
本研究の成果である『術後疼痛緩和プログラム【改訂版】』はEBPに基づく鎮痛法であり、より多くの患者の術後疼痛を緩和することができ、術後の早期回復による早期の社会復帰の実現や在院日数の短縮、医療費の削減にも貢献できると考える。また、患者の医療への主体的な参画を促し、満足度もより高まると考える。
さらに、『術後疼痛緩和プログラム【改訂版】』はEBPに基づいているため、臨床現場の医師や看護師の術後疼痛の症状マネジメント能力を高め、負担軽減にもなる。APSチームと病棟スタッフや病院全体での共有ツールとして活用されれば、様々な医療機関でのAPSチームの体制構築も容易になり医療全体への貢献に繋がると考える。
