Outline of Research at the Start

Outline of Final Research Achievements

The purpose of this study was to develop an activity care matrix corresponding to cognitive levels for activities commonly used in clinical and nursing care settings for the elderly and dementia. Prototype activity care matrices were developed for several types of activities, such as coloring books, corresponding to the cognitive level of the participants, and the completed matrices were developed for health professionals specializing in dementia care using the Delphi method. Next, we conducted a basic study using the completed version of the activity care matrix as an index of eye movements, and a clinical study of the intervention effects on elderly facility users. As a result, the effectiveness of the completed version of the Activity Care Matrix was confirmed in terms of quality of life and eye movements.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
