Outline of Research at the Start

近未来においてロボットが人間の日常生活における真のパートナーとして存在するためには、少なくとも自然言語による一般人との意思疎通のために適切で十分な能力が必要である。しかしながら、一般人が直観に基づき頻繁に発話しかつ容易に理解する自然言語時空間表現には人間の主観が投影されており、ロボットにとって客観的時空間への直接的な接地(Grounding)が困難な場合が多く存在している。本研究では、人間の主観的知識を心の機能モデルを介して体系的に接地可能な形式で表現・計算する演繹システムを構成し、ロボットの時空間言語理解機能の核として実装し仮想的な人型ロボットでのシミュレーションを試みる。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本申請者は、近い将来、自然言語による一般人と家庭用ロボットのコミュニケーションにおいて、それを阻害する可能性のある認知機構の差異に起因する認知障壁(Cognitive Divide)を本質的に解消するために、人間の認知機能のモデルを擁し、同等の自然言語理解能力を備えた人間・ロボット対話管理システムの開発を行い、この5年間、その成果を著書、国内外の学術会議およびジャーナル論文で公表した。
本年度は、特に、strong psychological equivalenceというキーワードを掲げ知的人工物(ロボットやアバターなど)に人間と同等の心の機能を所持させることを目的として研究を進展させてきた。その成果は、ロボット工学関係の学会のみならずバーチャルリアリティー学会などの関連学会で公表した。この研究の中心になるのは独自の理論である心像意味論で提唱している心のモデルとイメージのモデルである。その有効性は心理実験を通して確認され国際ジャーナルJouurnal of Artificial Life and Robotics [1]で公表した。

Reason

研究目的に関しては順調に展開してきた、研究発表に関しては、コロナ禍のため国際会議での発表回数を予定通り行うことができなかった。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

今年度が最終年度であったが、コロナ禍のため予算を予定通り消化することができなかった。そのため、研究期間延長を申請し承認を受け2024年度まで研究を延長し、次の研究ステップに進む、準備を行う。
