Outline of Research at the Start

Outline of Final Research Achievements

This research explored what was behind the demand for basic incomein the British Women’s Liberation Movement in the 1970s. A resolution for UBI was passed at the National Women’s Liberation Conference in 1977. By interviewing both the working-class women’s liberationists who demanded and the mainstream women’s liberationists who refused / denied the demand, this research reconstructed each thought behind their rationale, elucidated the uniqueness of the former, and named it as ‘grassroots feminist economic thought’. History Workshop Journal invited me to contribute its online special series on ‘Grobal Feminisms’. I had an opportunity to present a part of research at the first conference for ‘decolonising and diversifying the history of economic thought’, then invited to contribute a special issue of an academic journal for history of economic thought. Another paper by the author got the 2021 ‘Basic Income Studies Essay Prize’.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
