本研究では、地域固有のアイデンティティを反映したデザイン事象を「バナキュラーデザイン」と仮称し、社会課題に起因する包括的なデザイン行為のプロセスを具体事例から分析することで、社会課題デザインの基礎資料の作成を目的とする。
沖縄地方は風土条件や伝統的な文化・慣習を色濃く保ちながら、社会的な課題に対して地域に密着した小規模な組織や個人が包括的に取り組む独創的で多様な実践事例が進行している。相互扶助や社会包摂、産業・就労創出、歴史文化の形象化などに係る特徴的な活動事例と社会情勢との関係を観察し読み解くことで、社会的技術としてのデザインプロセスの根幹となる当事者の思考経緯と役割を明らかにする。

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This research aims to develop foundational resources for social issue-oriented design by analyzing comprehensive design processes that emerge from social issues, as opposed to business perspectives driven by profit structures, through the investigation of specific cases in Okinawa from the modern era onward.
In this study, we examine and analyze the actual activities of the involved stakeholders and the factors that influenced them throughout the origin and evolution of region-specific design practices rooted in familiar social issues in Okinawa, in order to extract case examples of design as a form of social technology and to clarify the structure of their underlying processes.

近代以降の沖縄には身近な問題の解決を契機として発現し、社会情勢に適応しながら定着している相互扶助や社会包摂、産業・就労創出、歴史文化の表象などに係る地域固有のデザイン事象が多く存在している。
当研究では、身近な社会課題に起因する地域固有のデザインを「バナキュラーデザイン」とし、発祥から変遷過程における実態と作用した要因を調査することで、社会的技術としての「デザイン」事例の抽出と「当事者と社会の関係の構造」、「社会課題デザインの汎用的な手法プロセス」を検証した。
