Outline of Research at the Start |
My project deals with the representation of social and political groups (crowd, people, nation) as individuals in fiction and discourse in France under Louis XVI, just before the Revolution (1774-1789).

Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
I went to Korea to give two conferences, one about Diderot and its links with collective move to globalized world, and the other one about the notion of groups viewed as persons in Paul Ricoeur work and in Jean Sebastien Mercier theater play La Destruction de la Ligue. Then I went to Edinburgh to present my research at the International Congress for Eighteenth century studies and I presented a communication at the symposium in Keio about the family in Ancien Regime France. I prepared two papers about Diderot's vision of collective characters and about the notion of wealth and the collectiv representation of guilt around it. One as been accepted in Diderot Studies journal (Canada) and the other one in Diderot et l'Encyclopedie journal(France), as part as special chapters on those matters. They will be published this year.
