| Outline of Research at the Start |
歴史学において東アジア論は、歴史の共有という目標の下で進展したが、いまだに日韓両国で東アジア論の異同は対話がなされていない。その前提的作業として韓国の東アジア論の研究史および思想的・社会的特色の検討が必要である。
本研究は韓国における東アジア論の成立と変容を、集合的記憶という考え方を手掛かりに、当時の社会的背景に関するインタビューと文献調査を行って明らかにするものである。
具体的に（1）1960年代東アジア論成立の国際社会的背景（2）「朝貢・冊封関係」の成立と変容（3）韓国的な東アジア論の成立とその特色という三つのテーマから検証し、韓国における東アジア論の特色を歴史学的立場から明らかにする。

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This research traced the trend of wide-area historical studies, such as "East Asian history," in South Korea and clarified its characteristics. The following three issues were analyzed for this purpose.
(1) The significance of the emergence of the terms related to the wider world in the 1960s(2) The background of the creation of the term "Tribute-Investiture"(3) The background of the establishment of the term "East Asia".

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
本研究では、韓国での東アジアの形成過程を跡づけ、その背景を考察することができた。冷戦とその崩壊という社会的状況と軌を一にしつつ形成された韓国的な東アジア像を分析することで、中国中心性からの脱却という特色や、韓国的なナラティブとその分析の必要性を確認することができた。
