Outline of Research at the Start

fullerene(フラーレン)とは,数十個の原子からなる構造を単位とする炭素の同素体である.fullereneは化学分野の研究対象だが,数学的にも興味深い性質を持つことが知られている.fullereneを数学的対象として扱うためfullerene graphが考案され,数学分野でも様々な研究が進められてきた.最近,申請者のこれまでの研究がfullerene graphの研究と関連があることがわかった.本研究では,申請者のこれまでの研究で得られた手法を改良してfullerene graphを扱うための新手法を提案し,その手法を用いてfullerene graphに関する新たな性質を解明する.

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

fullerene(フラーレン)とは,数十個の原子からなる構造を単位とする炭素の同素体である.fullerene graphとは,各面が五角形または六角形の3-正則な平面グラフであり,fullereneを数学的対象として扱うための道具として考案された.
2023年度は当初計画していた海外での研究打ち合わせは実施できなかったものの,いくつかの国際会議や国内学会で研究発表をおこない,その機会に情報交換などをおこなうことができた.これにより,HISTの次数和条件を与える定理について,さらに改良できることが明らかとなり,既存の次数和条件を大きく改善する形でHISTの存在性を保証する定理がいくつか得られた.
特に,2021年度に得られたHISTの次数和条件を与える定理(「n頂点(n≧8)で非隣接二頂点の次数和がn-1以上のグラフはHISTを持つ」)について,既にその次数和の最善性は示せていたものの,HISTの存在性を保証するための自明な必要条件を仮定することで大幅に改良できた.また,これらの研究の過程で,最小次数条件と次数和条件の間に位置する新しい次数条件を使ってHISTの存在性を保証することもできた.
今後は,今回新たに得られた成果で用いた証明手法のいくつかを活用する方針で既存定理がさらに改良できるかを検討していく.この方針がうまくいけば,HISTの研究をさらに発展させることができると考えられる.
