Outline of Research at the Start

核融合炉候補材料であるタングステンにヘリウムが照射されると、タングステン表面近傍にヘリウムの集合体(以下、ヘリウムバブルと表記する)が形成されることがわかっている。ヘリウムバブルが形成により水素同位体の拡散を阻害、あるいは、ヘリウムバブルの連結により水素同位体の脱離を促進することが示されてきた。しかし試料中の水素同位体分布については、まだ十分に明らかになってはいない。特に核融合デモ炉の設計・運用に寄与する、入射イオンエネルギー依存性に関する基礎データは未だ得られていない。そこで本研究ではイオンビーム加速器を用いて、ヘリウムバブルが形成した試料の水素同位体保持量の深さ分布について明らかにする。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

核融合炉候補材料であるタングステンにヘリウムが照射されると、タングステン表面近傍にヘリウムの集合体(以下、ヘリウムバブルと表記する)が形成されることがわかっている。ヘリウムバブルが形成により水素同位体の拡散を阻害、あるいは、ヘリウムバブルの連結により水素同位体の脱離を促進することが示されてきた。しかし試料中の水素同位体分布については、まだ十分に明らかになってはいない。特に核融合デモ炉の設計・運用に寄与する、入射イオンエネルギー依存性に関する基礎データは未だ得られていない。そこで本研究では核融合科学研究所が所有するイオンビーム解析装置を用いて、ヘリウムバブルが形成した試
料中の水素同位体保持量の深さ分布について明らかにすることを目指す。
該当年度はイオンビーム解析装置で検出器の通信不具合が発生したためメンテナンスを実施した。また新たにファラデーカップを作成し、分析チャンバーに取り付けた低エネルギーイオン照射源の照射電流量を測定した。来年度は整備したイオンビーム解析装置および低エネルギーイオン源を用いて、ヘリウムバブル形成タングステン試料中の水素同位体拡散の動的挙動について明らかにしていく。

Reason

本年度は発生した検出器の通信不具合の原因調査およびメンテナンスを実施した。そのため本年度の進捗は予定よりも遅れてしまった。来年度は改善したイオンビーム解析装置を用いて水素同位体の深さ分布を計測していく。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

イオンビーム解析装置および低エネルギーイオン照射源を用いてヘリウムバブルが形成した試料中の水素同位体保持量の深さ分布について明らかにする。核反応法(NRA)分析が難しい場合は弾性反跳粒子検出法(ERDA)を実施し、水素同位体の深さ分布計測を実施する。
