Outline of Research at the Start

QCDの理解は、ゲージ理論のダイナミクスの理解のみならず、標準理論の精密予言及び標準理論を超える物理現象への検出感度を高めるためにも未だ大きな重要性を持っている。QCDの高エネルギー現象は摂動論により記述できるが、更なる理解を推し進めるには、摂動論の予言に限界を与えているリノーマロン誤差の問題に対処する必要がある。。本研究では、摂動論に含まれるリノーマロン誤差を取り除き、より精密な摂動予言を与えるための理論的定式化の開発に取り組む。また得られる精密な摂動予言に基づき、系統的に非摂動効果を取り入れ、摂動論を超える予言を与えることを目指す。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

QCDの理論予言を精密に与えることは、標準理論を超える新物理の探索を進めるとともに、ゲージ理論の理解を進展させる。本研究では摂動計算に含まれる誤差(リノーマロン)を超えて、QCDの精密な理論予言を与えることを目指す。特にQCD非摂動効果の決定およびそれを取り入れた理論予言を与える。摂動計算の原理的誤差を取り除くには理論的な手法が必要であり、これまでに手法の開発を行ってきた。当該年度の主な活動成果は次の3点である。(1)計算手法をより洗練させることができ、これまでの定式化と比べて、余分な発散因子であるUVリノーマロンを出現させない方法を提唱した。これとともに演算子積展開で実現するリノーマロン相殺の理論的理解を進展させた。本業績がJHEPで出版された。(2)カビボ・小林・益川行列要素である|V_cb|の精密決定を行った。特にこれまで用いられてこなかったMSbar質量を用いた決定で高精度が実現でき、かつその他の決定と整合した結果を与えることを示した。本業績がPRDで出版された。(3)(1)の手法を用いて、漸近自由な理論の低エネルギー領域での物理量の計算を試みた。漸近自由な理論では低エネルギーで強結合になるため、摂動的な解析が破綻すると考えられてきた。ところが、開発した手法を用いるとこの困難な問題が解決できる可能性がある。これはリノーマロン問題を超えた、より重要な問題への手法の応用となる。現在、QCDと似た性質を持ち、かつ高エネルギーでも低エネルギーでも正確な解析が可能な理論で、この可能性を検証している。

Reason

当初、目標としていた、(i)理論的な手法についての開発、(ii)物理量への具体的応用及び非摂動行列要素の決定、(iii)非摂動効果を含む理論予言を与えること、の全てがある物理量について達成されている。さらに当該年度は、主なターゲットであったリノーマロン問題を超えて、漸近自由理論の低エネルギー領域での物理量の解析という重大なテーマへの応用可能性も視野に入ってきたため。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

開発した計算手法を漸近自由理論の低エネルギー領域での物理量の解析に応用し、この文脈で何が達成できるか調査する。
