Outline of Research at the Start

本研究では,ネットワークシステム(複数のサブシステムがネットワークで結ばれたもの)に対する「分散型空間フィルタリング」技術の開発を目的とする.分散型空間フィルタリングとは,各サブシステムが与えられた信号値を近傍のサブシステムと交換し,所望の空間周波数特性をもつ信号値を得るというものである.このような技術が確立されれば,各サブシステムがもつ超短時間のデータだけでフィルタリングを行えるため,従来の時系列データに対するフィルタリングと比べ,扱うデータ量を大幅に削減できる.

Outline of Final Research Achievements

This study considered distributed spatial filtering over networked systems, i.e., obtaining signal values with a desired spatial frequency characteristic from those given for nodes by a distributed algorithm. We proposed a filtering algorithm based on a consensus algorithm and revealed all the achievable filter characteristics. The performance of the proposed algorithm was demonstrated through denoising experiments for a real sensor network.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

制御工学の分野では,これまで時系列信号に対するフィルタリングが主に考えられており,信号値がネットワーク上に空間的に分散している信号については検討されていなかった.本研究の成果により,そのような信号のフィルタリングをネットワークシステム上で分散的に行うことが可能となる.加えて,提案法には,時系列信号に対するフィルタリングとは異なり,対象とする信号の空間的な性質を活用できる,個々のサブシステムが取得した短時間のデータだけでフィルタリングができるといった利点がある.このような技術は,たとえば,センサネットワークによる環境モニタリングの高速化・高効率化につながると考えられる.
