Outline of Research at the Start

本研究では, 機械学習等の実応用に由来する大規模な非凸最適化問題に対する実用上効率の良いアルゴリズムの開発を行ない, さらにその効率の良さに対して理論的な裏付けを与えることを目指す. 具体的には, 以下の研究を行なう: (1) 非凸最適化アルゴリズムの高速化, (2) 通信システムの最適化や等調回帰などの構造をもった実問題や 2 段階最適化問題に対する実用上効率のよいアルゴリズムの開発, (3) 非凸最適化アルゴリズムが局所的最適解に収束しやすいという現象の解明に向けた理論的解析.

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

(1) 微分不可能な最適化問題に対する平滑化法の連続極限 (平滑化勾配流) に関する Lyapunov 解析を行なった.
(2) 最大一般化固有値の最小化問題の性質を明らかにし, この問題を解くためのアルゴリズムを開発した.
(3) 非線形最適化に関するサーベイ論文を執筆した.

Reason

理論面と応用面の両面からの研究が進行しており, 研究は順調に進展していると言える. 新規に複数の論文を準備・投稿しており, 成果が順調に出ている.

Strategy for Future Research Activity

(1) 2 錐間の大域的な最小角を計算するための分枝限定法を実装し, 凸錐の幾何学における未解決問題にアプローチする.
(2) 複素信号処理に現れる非凸非平滑最適化問題への応用を目指し, 複素変数実数値関数の一般化方向微分を定義して, その理論的性質を明らかにする.
(3) (2) の理論を用いて電波干渉計を用いたイメージングに関する問題を解くアルゴリズムを開発する.
(4) 平滑化法と加速法の組み合わせについて研究を進める.
