Outline of Research at the Start

巨大ひずみ加工による種々の金属・合金の結晶粒超微細化と超高強度化が達成されている
が、熱的に不安定であるという問題が残されている。本研究では、溶質元素の粒界偏析に着目し、粒界生成と偏析プロセスの最適化により実用温度での熱的安定性を担保する。そのため、溶質元素の転位・粒界への偏析の制御を加工熱処理プロセスにより行い、これらの現象が機械的性質と熱的安定性へ及ぼす影響を理解することで、「結晶粒超微細化による強化」と「合金元素による熱的安定性向上」の両者を最大限に活かした、高強度かつ高熱的安定性Al合金の開発を実現する。

Outline of Final Research Achievements

Severe plastic deformation techniques are effective for producing ultrafine-grained structure and improving the mechanical properties of metals and alloys. However, ultrafine-grained materials have low heat resistance and easily soften at high temperature. In this study, we investigated the thermal stability of aluminum alloys processed by multi directional forging.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

本研究では、アルミニウム合金の多軸鍛造材による高強度化に関わる要素が示され、それらが高温下において起きる課題が再確認された。また、巨大ひずみ加工を施した高強度化材に対する熱的安定性に関する基礎データを提供した。これらのデータは巨大ひずみ加工により形成した超微細粒材の実用化に向けた一つの知見となりうる。
