Outline of Research at the Start

Outline of Final Research Achievements
Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a developmental disorder characterized primarily by difficulties in forming social relationships with others and narrow interests and concerns, often focusing on specific objects or behaviors. This study focused on preschool-aged children with ASD or typical development (TD), examining whether there were differences in task performance and brain activity between situations where the child performed cognitive tasks with a familiar caregiver present and with an unfamiliar person present. The results suggested that there may be distinct effects depending on the type of person beside them, differing between children with ASD and those with typical development.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
