Outline of Research at the Start

新生児低酸素性虚血性脳症(Hypoxic-Ischemic Encephalopathy: HIE)とは周産期仮死により引き起こされる予後不良の疾患であり、MRI(Magnetic Resonance Imaging)などの画像検査により非侵襲・継時的な観察が可能である。本研究では、高磁場7T-MRIを使用して、新たな撮像技術であるNeurite Orientation Dispersion and Density Imagingや化学交換飽和イメージング法に着目し、脳内の水分子拡散と代謝変化の観点から、HIEの病態解明及び治療効果手法を確立することを目的とする。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

小動物用高磁場MRIと新規MRイメージング技術を用いて、新生児低酸素性虚血性脳症(Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy: HIE)モデル動物の病態を評価した。研究成果より、CESTイメージングやNODDIといった先進的MRI技術を用いることで、早期HIEにおける代謝状態の可視化や重症度判定が可能であることが示唆された。今年度は低酸素虚血負荷が健側及び患側の脳に与える影響について解析を行った。また、化学交換飽和イメージングまたは拡散MRIを他病変(腫瘍モデル)へ応用した。
研究成果により新規MRイメージング技術と疾患モデル動物を用いた検討が今後の診断及び治療の開発に寄与すると期待される。
