高齢者にとって食べることは，楽しみでありいきがいである．食事ができなくなるとQOLは大きく低下し，食事量や食品多様性が低下し，フレイルや低栄養の原因となる．申請者はこれまでの研究により，咀嚼の主観的評価と客観的評価は必ずしも一致せず、単に咀嚼能率検査の結果が実生活における栄養状態を反映しているとは限らないということを明らかにした．本研究では，客観的には問題はないが主観的に満足していないという人に着目し，口腔内因子以外の外的要因（環境要因）を簡便に評価する質問票を作製することを目的とした．

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Subjective assessment of mastication was correlated with age, with subjective evaluations tending to reflect dietary habits, whereas objective evaluations were more likely to reflect symptoms of oral frailty. Furthermore, partial correlation analysis controlling for age revealed that both oral frailty and physical frailty were closely associated with food perception and eating behavior. In addition, age and dietary habits were identified as significant factors contributing to the discrepancy between objective and subjective assessments of masticatory ability, suggesting important considerations for masticatory guidance in older adults.
