| Outline of Research at the Start |
社会経済的地位（Socio-Economic Status: SES）が低い者は多くの健康問題を有していることが指摘されている。このような状況にある高齢者は社会的・健康的弱者とされ、今後の健康づくりの最も重要な対象者である。そこで本研究では、地域在住の自立高齢者を対象に、SES層ごとの身体活動、座位行動の特性（関連要因）を明らかにし、プログラム開発に必要な情報を得ることを目的とする。そのために、従来の量的研究に加えて最近注目されている質的研究を組み合わせた混合研究法を用いて詳細な検討を行う。

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This study aimed to identify the factors associated with physical activity and sedentary behaviour among each socioeconomic status (SES), and we conducted a mixed-method study.
Our findings suggested that older adults with low SES were more likely to be physically inactive and prolonged sitting compared with high SES older adults. Furthermore, their associated factors differ by SES.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
高齢者のなかでも社会経済的地位（Socio-Economic Status: SES）が低い者は多くの健康問題を有していることが指摘されている。このような状況にある高齢者は社会的・健康的弱者とされている。本研究で明らかとなった各SESの関連要因に対してアプローチすることで、SESの違いによって生じる身体活動や座位行動の格差を是正する可能性が考えられる。今後の研究によって、身体活動・座位行動の格差を是正する介入プログラムを開発し、地域全体に普及・実践していくことが求められる。
