Outline of Research at the Start

本研究の目的は、脳震盪の急性期に対する高気圧酸素治療の有効性を明らかにし、適切な治療プロトコルの基盤を作成することである。東京オリンピックを控え、豊かなスポーツ環境を目指していく本邦において、スポーツの安全性を高めることは大きな使命である。しかし、現在行われている脳震盪の治療は安静のみで、積極的な治療手段は選択肢となっていない。本研究により脳震盪の急性期に高気圧酸素治療の有効性が確立されれば、スポーツ立国をめざす本邦に大きく貢献できる。

Outline of Final Research Achievements

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy was administered to 20 cases of concussion that occurred during sports. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy had no complications and was performed safely. All patients were able to return to sports after 3 times or 6 times of treatment. Ten patients who completed 1-year follow-up had no residual symptoms and no reinjury after returning to sports. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy for concussion was safe and useful.
