| Outline of Research at the Start |
持続可能な社会の概念の一つとして注目されている「循環経済（Circular Economy）」の進展による環境への影響を、生産者・消費者・環境の横断的な関係を加味したうえで定量的に明らかにする。具体的には、「物理的耐久性」と「修理可能性」の向上に着目し、動的離散選択モデルと産業連関分析の価格モデルを用いて、それらの向上が消費者の買い替え選択への影響を通じてもたらす環境への影響を、循環経済の進展に伴う生産構造の変化に付随する製品価格変化も考慮して明らかにする。複数のシナリオについて結果を示し、「製品の長寿命化」の施策の進展度に応じた環境負荷の削減ポテンシャルを示す。

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This study constructed an environmental analytical framework for policy implementations related with product lifetime considering its effects on product replacement behavior, product lifetime and product stock and flow.
We applied the framework to home appliances and focused on a policy of "increasing consumer's expectation to product lifetime along with a circular economy transition", showing effects of the policy on product lifetime, the number of production and greenhouse gas emissions of air conditioners in Japan.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
これまでの関連する研究では、政策の実施と製品寿命への影響は別々にシナリオが設定されて分析されていた。それに対し本研究では、政策の実施とそれによる製品寿命への影響が連動するような環境政策の評価モデルを発展させており、この点で学術的意義は高いと考える。またこうしたモデルの発展によって、製品寿命に関わる政策が環境に与える影響をより政策に直結する形で評価でき、効果的な政策を議論する上で有益な情報を提供できるという点で社会的意義も大きいと考える。
