Outline of Research at the Start |
The study determines determinants destination satisfaction, loyalty of tourists and the impacts of overtourism on local resident quality of life (QoL). Then, policy implications will be formulated to promote the tourist satisfaction and mitigate the local QoL. The methods used are Confirmatory Factor Analysis and Structural Equation Modeling.

The outcome of the final year includes (2) and: - Conducting a site survey in Furano and Biei (Hokkaido) about overtourism and discussed with Biei town and Furano DMO’s representative. - I also visited some tourist hot spots and consulted with a tourism researcher in Vietnam about overtourism. Based on that, I can compare the overtourism in Japan and in Vietnam.
