Outline of Research at the Start

Outline of Final Research Achievements

We investigated the association of dietary habits in childhood with subsequent health status (especially, body mass index) and published papers in international academic journals. Through exchanging opinions with local educators and research collaborators, we developed textbooks for health education for elementary and junior high school students. Using these books, schoolteachers have provided health education to students. Questionnaire surveys and spot urine tests have been conducted for the students and their parents to estimate their current eating habits. Continuous health education based on scientific evidence would enhance health activities for both children and their parents.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
