| Outline of Research at the Start |
本研究は、マイノリティとされてきた人びとの主張や活動の記録をアーカイブ化することに挑戦する芽生え段階として、研究代表者と研究協力者の立岩真也が立命館大学生存学研究所で継続的にアーカイブ化してきた身体・精神・知的障害や病を持つ人びとの記録から出発して、エスニシティやジェンダーなど他のマイノリティについても展開する基盤となる人的ネットワークを構築することを目的とする。

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This study challenged to archive records of claims and activities of people who have been regarded as minorities, and built a researchers network that serves as an archiving basis for disability, ethnicity, gender, and so on. Through the creation of minority archives, not only (1) to search / collect, (2) to keep / convey, (3) to use / utilize, but also (4) "to speak / spell" and (5) "to bundle / organize" turned out to be indispensable. These findings will be relevant for the future development.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
さまざまな背景を持つマイノリティ集団に関して、データを収集してアーカイブズ化する基盤構築を行ったことは最大の学術的意義である。また、そうした「データ」の前提として、「話しても構わない、書いても構わない」あるいは「伝えることに意義がある」ことをループ的にマイノリティ主体にコミュニケーションすることは、エンパワメントとなり得ることを明らかにした。さらに、こうしたアーカイブズにおいて不可視化されているメタデータのあり方に関しても、その「使いやすさ」は、何を無用で些末なデータとして排除し、効率性のために何を犠牲にし、ユーザーをどう支援するためにあるのか、という問いを立てる批判的視点を確立した。
