Outline of Research at the Start

近年,深層学習に大きな注目が集められ,人工知能の研究が爆発的な勢いで行われている.しかしながら,人工知能によって導き出された答えがいかに正しくても,現状ではその理由を説明できないと言われており,このことが実用化への障害になることもある.そこで,本研究では,人工知能の安全性と安心感を実現する方法の開発へ挑戦する.特に,人工知能(予測器)に,数理モデルに基づくスーパーバイザと呼ばれる装置を取り付け,人工知能を管理する枠組みの開発を目指す.

Outline of Final Research Achievements

This study has established a series of fundamental results on the so-called “supervised artificial intelligence,” which is artificial intelligence with supervision from a mathematical model. In particular, we have progressed the existing theory of prediction governor and developed supervised artificial intelligence for multi-agent control, event-triggered control, and so on.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

近年,人工知能に大きな注目が集められているが,人工知能によって導き出された答えがいかに正しくても,現状ではその理由を説明できないと言われており,このことが実用化への障害になることもあった.その解決策のひとつは,人工知能がうまく働くメカニズムを理論的に解明することであるが,残念ながらそのような成果が得られる目途は立っていない.そこで,本研究では,人工知能に数理モデルを融合することで,人工知能が本質的にもつ不確かさを数理モデルによって補償する方法を開発した.これにより,人工知能単体で用いる場合と比べ,我々がより安心して人工知能を利用できる基礎を作ることができた.
