Outline of Research at the Start

本研究の目的浮遊性有虫の地球化学分析から得たデータと比較して放散虫種を過去の温度躍層の変化を復元する指標として確立して、そこからモンスーンシステムが大きく変化した後期中新世における熱帯インド洋の温度躍層の変化を復元して、モンスーンとの相互作用を議論する事である。その為にはドイツのキール大学との共同研究を行って、ドイツの研究船であるSonne R/VとIODP 第353航海が採取した堆積物試料の分析を行う。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

昨年、私は 4 月には海洋調査 (KS-22-4) に参加し、放散虫微化石に基づいて海面温度の推定値を制限するために表層堆積物とプランクトン試料を採集した。その公開では過去2万年間を記録する海洋コアも採取した。
2022年5月から9月にかけては2021年度と2022年度に採取した表層堆積物試料を放散虫分析用の顕微鏡スライド化に必要な酸処理をし、スライドを作成した。その後はその30サンプルの放散虫群集の変化を調べるために顕微鏡観察を行った。格試料に関して500個対以上をカウントした。2022年10 月から統計的な分析を実施し、北西太平洋の放散虫に基づいて海面水温を推定するための方法論を定義しました。
同時に、本プロジェクトのドイツの共同研究者(A. Holbourn博士とW. Kuhnt教授)にオーストラリア沖から海面水温の推定と過去180万年間のオーストラリア沖の古海洋変動に関する原稿を共有し、共同研究者から指摘とコメントに基づいて、原稿の修正を行いました。最終的にはこの原稿は2023年4月03日に学術雑誌に投稿した。この研究については、2022年の5月に日本地球惑星科学連合にも予備データのポスター発表も行った。
ドイツの共同研究者(A. Holbourn博士とW. Kuhnt教授)と共に、2022 年 7 月に熱帯海域の中新世の中期の古海洋学とモンスーンに関する論文も出版した。その関係で私は西赤道太平洋に採取せれたIODP 363　サイト U1490の放散虫微化石の生層序の研究も進め、その一時的データを日本地質学会(早稲田大学)に発表し、その一時データを3月末にIODPのDATA REPORTに出版した。

Reason

ドイツの共同研究者 (A. Holbournたちは) は、中新世の温暖期におけるモンスーンに関する論文を北米の地質学会誌に発表することができた。 さらに、海洋調査にまた参加し北西太平洋の海面水温の推定の手法確立に必要の資料を採取できた。また、オーストラリア沖の放散虫微化石と海面水温の推定と当時の古海洋変動に関する論文を科学雑誌に提出することがでた。このプロジェクトに残っている作業のほとんどは、太平洋の海面推定方法を公開することです。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

今年度は、2023 年 4 月の欧州地球科学連合(EGU)と日本地球科学連合 (JpGU)で、オーストラリア沖から海面水温の推定と過去180万年間のオーストラリア沖の古海洋変動に関する成果を発表する予定です(口頭)。 さらに、この研究に関しては2023年4月03に提出した原稿が2023年度に中に受理されることを期待する。
そして、今年のメインなエフォートは放散虫微化石に基づく北西太平洋の海面水温の推定に関する論文の執筆と学術雑誌に提出投稿することです。そこでは研究分担者の地球化学データから得られた海面水温と放散虫から得た海面水温を比較し、その適合性を議論する。
