| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
We successfully isolated exosomes derived from skeletal muscle and aimed to investigate their potential impact on the central nervous system. To explore the underlying mechanisms of ICU delirium, we analyzed contributing factors in patients with severe burns. Machine learning-based analysis revealed that specific leukocyte subsets, including eosinophils and basophils, were associated with the development of ICU delirium. These findings suggest that skeletal muscle-derived exosomes may influence immune cell function, providing a novel perspective on the pathophysiology of ICU delirium. Further elucidation of these interactions could lead to the development of innovative strategies for the prevention and treatment of ICU delirium.
