Research Abstract

昨年欧州で始まったLHC実験において、ビッグス粒子が見つかると期待されている。標準理論の枠内では、かなり不自然に見える形で導入されているスカラー粒子だが、それを自然に説明する模型の枠組みの一つとして、高次元のゲージ理論を考えそのゲージ場の余剰次元方向の成分であるとするゲージヒッグス統一という考え方がある。この考え方に乗っ取り、これまでほとんど試みられたことのないS2という商空間上で、Universal Extra Dimensional Modelを構築した。
この模型では、標準的なUED模型と同様にKKパリティが定義でき、それ故に一番軽い新粒子が暗黒物質になることを確かめた。また、この模型ではヒッグス粒子の生成率が標準理論のそれに比べて30-50%大きいことも確かめた。
一方で、通常のUED模型に右巻きニュートリノを導入した模型において、新粒子、特に第二KKモードの粒子がどの程度生成されるのかを見た。そしてこのモードを見ることにより、他の標準理論を超える模型とかなりの確率で区別が付くことを確かめた。
