Research Abstract

我々は、高活性、高選択性を示す触媒系を開発して、その反応原理の解明、活性構造と反応原理の対応を見出し、クラスター・錯体触媒の理論的な開発指針の確立を目指している。21年度は、我々が開発しているRu固定化触媒に関して研究を行った。この触媒は、波長の異なる紫外光による異なるUV吸収帯を示す中間体同士の可逆的なスイッチング挙動と、シクロアルカンの光酸化反応活性を示す。また、イソブチルアルデヒド(IBA)の選択的な酸化反応とIBA存在下でのスチルベンの選択的なエポキシ化反応がそれぞれ進行し、スチルベンの存在の有無でこれらの反応がスイッチングする特徴的な系である。シリカ担体上でサイトが単離されたRu固定化触媒はIBAの酸化としては、38,800,000のターンオーバー数(TON)を示し、トランス-スチルベンのエポキシ化反応は2,100,000のTONを示し、金属錯体触媒としては最高レベルのTONとなっている。また、IBAの酸化反応は活性化エネルギーが48kJ mol^<-1>で、スチルベンのエポキシ化反応の活性化エネルギーの99kJ mol^<-1>よりはるかに低い反応障壁であるにもかかわらず、スチルベンが存在すると完全に反応がストップしてしまうという興味深い挙動が観測された。密度汎関数法の計算により、反応中間体、遷移状態を探索し、高選択的な反応性とスイッチング挙動の解明を行うことができた。酸素分子、IBA分子が吸着しているRu触媒サイトにスチルベンが相互作用してスチルベンも吸着可能となることが、IBA酸化反応からエポキシ化反応にスイッチする要因となっている事が示された。
