Research Abstract

近年π電子系化合物は分子エレクトロニクス素子や単一分子デバイスをはじめ、磁気的、光学的機能材料としても注目され、基礎および応用研究が精力的に展開されている。次世代を切り拓く革新的な電子・光・磁気機能を有する物質の創出を図るため、本研究では巨大π電子ナノ空間を有するフラーレン内部に常磁性物質を内包した常磁性内包フラーレンに着目し、その分子変換による構造および電子特性の制御を行うことを目標としている。得られた常磁性内包フラーレン誘導体の組織化を行うことで高次に設計された配列ナノ空間を創製し、革新的バルク機能を有する材料の創製が期待される。
平成21年度は前年度に引き続き金属内包フラーレンLa@C_<82>の大量合成を行った。次に得られたLa@C_<82>に対しアゾメチンイリドとの[2+3]環化付加反応を用いることによって金属錯体の配位子として広く用いられているピリジン部位を高効率、高選択に導入できることが明らかとなった。付加体の単離はESR、HPLCおよび質量分析によって確認を行った。また、可視-近赤外吸収スペクトルの比較により、本付加体はLa@C_<82>とシクロペンタジエンとの[2+4]環化付加体と同じ付加位置であることが明らかとなった。さらに得られた金属内包フラーレン配位子は溶液中完全縮環亜鉛ポルフィリン二量体と3:1錯体を形成することが示唆された。この超分子錯体における常磁性内包フラーレン同士の相互作用については大変興味深い。
