Research Abstract

高い熱電効率を持つ物質を開発する指針を得ることおよび,多様な電子物性を持つ低次元強相関有機伝導体を熱電材料として利用する可能性を探るために,平成20年度より開始したτ型と呼ばれる結晶構造を持つ一連の擬二次元有機伝導体の無次元熱電性能指数ZTの評価を引き続き行った.平成21年度の研究では,τ-(D)_2(X)_<1+y>,(D=EDT-S,S-DMEDT-TTF,P-S,S-DMEDT-TTF;X=AuBr_2,AuCl_2,AuI_2)について,電気抵抗率,熱電能,熱伝導度の温度依存性を常圧,78K-300Kにおいて測定し,無次元熱電性能指数ZTを決定した.有機ドナー分子EDT-S,S-DMEDT-TTFの塩はAuI_2塩のみ測定したが,これまで有望だと考えていた酸素置換類似体EDO-S,S-DMEDT-TTFのAuI_2塩より高いZTを示すことがわかった.このことは,EDT-S,S-DMEDT-TTF塩のAuBr_2塩やAuCl_2塩がZT=0.1以上の、有機物として最高の値を示すことを示唆している.
測定方法の改良点として,熱伝導度の測定結果に対する参照試料の直径の影響を調べた.直径50,100および200μmのマンガニンについて定常比較法による測定を行った結果,50μmでは文献の熱伝導度の2倍の値が得られたが,100μmと200μmでは文献値をよく再現することがわかった.これまでの測定では試料へのストレスを軽減するために50μmのマンガニン線をつないでいたが,今後100μmのマンガニンで同様の測定をすることで,ZTの値が2-3倍高く再評価される可能性があることがわかった.
