分子シミュレーションに基づく和周波発生の理論の深化

Research Abstract

液体や高分子界面を含めた幅広い界面構造解析において強力な実験計測手法である和周波発生分光法に対して、代表者は世界的に初めて分子シミュレーションに基づく理論解析手法を提案し、開発を行ってきた。本年度は水表面における和周波発生の位相測定について、理論計算に基づく精密な解析を与えた。従来より非線形感受率の位相は分子配向と関係する量として知られており、近年Shenや田原らのグループによって水表面の非線形感受率の位相が測定された。それによると水表面で強く水素結合して低波数シフトした領域では、非線形感受率の虚部の符号が正であることが明らかとなり、これは従来の水分子の配向とは対応がつかない結果を与えた。それらを受けて本研究では、精密な分子シミュレーションに基づいて、位相と分子配向の関係を理論的に明らかにした。強い水素結合を正しく記述するようにcharge response kernelの分子モデルに改良を加え、実験結果を再現することに成功した。さらにその解析の結果、非線形感受率の位相は分子配向とは必ずしも対応せず、界面特有の異方的な局所電場のために分子の配向とは異なる向きの遷移双極子モーメントが生成するためであることを明らかにした。これは分子間の配向相関を反映した効果である。非線形感受率の位相と分子配向の関係について、従来の理解を超えた扱いが必要であることを分子シミュレーションに基づいて実証した。
