近接場光学顕微鏡による表面・界面における単一高分子鎖の構造とダイナミクス

Research Abstract

本年度は、表面・界面において空間的な制限を受けた高分子鎖の特徴的な構造を明らかにするため、高分子単分子膜中におけるミクロ相分離構造内の高分子鎖についてその一本一本を近接場光学顕微鏡で観察し、そのコンボメーションについて検討した。ポリイソブチルメタクリレートとポリオクタデシルメタクリレートのブロック共重合体(PiBMA-b-PoDMA)を試料として用い、そのミクロ相分離構造中に分散したPiBMAホモポリマー鎖の形態を評価した。その結果、ホモPiBMA鎖はラメラ状相分離構造内のPiBMAドメイン内に存在することが示され、またその形態はドメイン内の位置によって大きく異なることが分かった。ホモ鎖の分布はドメイン中央で最も存在確率が高く、中央部に局在する蛍光があることが示された。またこのとき、鎖はほぼランダムなコンホメーションをとっていることが明らかになった。一方で、確率は低いものの、ドメイン界面近傍に存在する鎖も存在し、その鎖は界面垂直方向に強く配向していることが明らかになった。さらに鎖の形態のみならずセグメント配向のイメージングを実現するため、前年度に開発した励起偏光変調システムを用いた照明下において観察を行った。マクロな引っ張りにより伸張した形態をとった高分子鎖を観察することで、開発されたシステムによってセグメントレベルでの配向状態が可視化できることが確認され、伸張方向に対して鎖セグメントが優先配向していることが示された。
